| | | | It was just another day at the office at the St. Quinton Baytown District Marshal Headquarters. The facility was fully staffed with administration, staff, and interns, each in their own branches. Baytown District Marshal Kataniya Jade was in the staffs’ lounge sitting at a table eating a Caesar salad, a yogurt with granola mix and drinking an iced tea. She would normally eat in, purchasing her lunches at a local deli shop or grocery store. She did not mind so much eating at the office. She sat back in her chair and sipped on her iced tea. A high heel was dangling off her right nylon-clad foot. There were a few other people in the room, eating at various tables, conversing about work, events from the night before, and about family. Jade preferred her peace, her lunch. She continued to hear favorite salad. Meanwhile, Donna Reeves, secretary to David Marks Captain of the Forensics Branch, was in her work space, finishing typing an e-mail that needed to be sent out. As soon as she hit send, she slipped her nylon feet back into her heels and rose from her chair. She walked out of the work space and into the hallway. She proceeded down the hallway, heels clicking on the tiled floor, her skirt swishing as she walked. She opened the door to the lounge and walked in. Marshal Jade was at a vantage point to be able to see who was coming and going. As soon as she saw the young brunette enter the room, her ruby red lips curled a smile. Donna Reeves walked on through and went straight for the fridge, opening it up and taking out a soft drink. She closed the fridge, walked to a table and sat down. She kicked off her heels and opened the drink. She took a heavy sip and let out a sigh of relief. Kataniya Jade gathered her belongs and put them all into a brown bag. She got up from her chair and walked to a trash can, throwing away her left over. She ate most of her lunch and drank her iced tea. She began to walk out, passing Reeves’ table, looking down at the woman and giving a friendly smile. Reeves waved up at her. Jade kept on walking, out the door of the lounge. She walked down the hallway to wear the elevators were. She called for one and waited. Waiting for fifteen seconds, an elevator came, filled with a couple of staffers. She just smiled at them and stepped inside. “Hello Ms. Jade.” Frank Barnes from legal services said. Marshal Jade nodded politely. “Hello Frank.” She replied. The elevator stopped at the fourth floor. “Have a good day Ma’am.” Frank said as he got off. The door closed and the elevator went up to the fifth and final floor. She got off and found herself in the administrative lobby. She walked through the lobby, passing the secretaries and went through a special access door. She walked down the hallway, passing a conference room, a coffee room, a few offices, until she reached her corner office. She unlocked the door, opened the door and kicked down the stand to let it stay open. Her office could use some fresh air. She slipped off her walks smiled. The heels killed her feet, but they were mandatory for dress. Marshal Jade was first stunned and taken back at what she had seen. Sitting on her desk was Donna Reeves, legs crossed, her heels off, her nylon clad feet extended out to Kataniya, toes pointing. “Hello there Kataninya.” She said hopping up off the desk. Her feet making a soft landing. Kataniya approached Donna and slipped an arm around her waist. She took in a deep breath through her noise, taking in Donna’s scented perfume. She then stepped back. “You got here before me.” She stated. Donna chuckled and nodded. “Yes Ma’am. I took the stairs.” Jades nodded and walked around the desk. She planted herself in her leather chair and crossed her legs. “How are things?” She asked. “Oh, well things are going all right. David is at a seminar right now and much of his team is in the labs. I take care of the phones and e-mails.” “Poor thing.” Jade said. “Well, I do have a conference call with the Mayor. You are free to stay, or go, if you are inclined.” She offered. Donna Reeves walked to a leather couch and sat down. She curled her feet up underneath her. She let out a soft sigh. This message was edited by Anita~Gretchen on 12-7-06 @ 1:26 AM |
