| | | | Okay ladies and germs, here's my dilemma.
I want to upgrade memory. I currently have two slots, both with a 256mb chip. I plan to replace one with a 1gb chip - My motherboard can have up to 2gb so I see no problem there.
I know that I need 184 pin memory, 333mhz, PC2700, DDR memory. Though I don't necessary know what that all means, it's cool.
According to this, my motherboard supports neith duel channel nor ECC memory. But I can't figure out if I'll have problems with high density memory. Ebay listings, like this one, are cheap, I hear ebcause not all computers support high density memory, especially older ones and mine's not exactly brand new but I can't find anywhere to clarify about this issue with my motherboard.
My second question is this: If a chip supports dual channel memory, can I use it even though my motherboard does not?
