| | | | Cradz,
I am an active Facebook subscriber. I don't imagine I am alone in being a member of The Pork and Facebook.
Facebook will hit 100 million members+ by years end (they are 90 million now).
Please consider adding Facebook options here at The Pork.
I'm not quite sure what to specifically suggest but embracing social networking could prove beneficial to The Pork.
Thanks, ML

| | | | | not a good idea.. Facebook is it's own thing & i already get peeved off with all the applications there.. i love the pork as is & don't really want it to turn into a Facebook or Myspace thing..
just my opinion.. take it or leave it!

| | | | | Have to go with febby on this one while it would bring in more people it would also probaly drive some away if it brought to much. |
| | | | | I just wanted to be clear about my suggestion for Febby and kitten's benefit.
Febby, for your information Facebook just redesigned its user interface and it is far less confusing than it once was. I started using it this morning and I really think its a dramatic improvement for Facebook users. In case you haven't seen it, this is what I am referring to:
http://www.new.facebook.com/
I am not advocating anything more than Facebook connection options for Pork users. Many Web sites today provide the option of interacting with Facebook. I like finding the Facebook symbol and being able to post to my profile or to share with others.
I thought it would be a nice feature for The Pork users to have as a social network Web service.
Lee, you have shown several option buttons for Web services that I have seen appear from time to time in the discussion forums when I am either posting or replying to discussion threads. Has the addition of Facebook or other social network interfaces for The Pork crossed your mind at all?
It may not be appropriate for The Pork's style of computing.
I'd like to hear your thoughts on my suggestion when you have the time.
Thanks, ML

| No offense ML but I'm not here to promote usage of other sites on the net...
I'll keep it in mind though once I get back to working on the site again after finishing up some major projects I have at work right now. |
| | | | | None taken, just an open suggestion of an idea.
I don't see it as promotion of other sites, Lee. I think they help build community.
I can see that you might feel that way. I was thinking more of the convenience option.
Thanks for considering the suggestion. They seem to be so integral to Web 2.0 and beyond. I thought they could complement your Web site future architecture.

| | | | | I'm not sure what ML was suggesting but here is perhaps an idea others would like
Cradz, would you consider adding profile options so we could add the URL of our profiles on other sites like Facebook, Myspace, Flickr etc? I don't even think we have an option to put a personal URL in right now. This would be mostly unobtrusive but still helpful.

Under Contact Details you can add a couple of URLs.
Is that what you meant ML? I thought it was some web service or feed you were talking about. |
| | | | | Actually Lee, you were right.
I didn't actually want the Contact Details feature. Too revealing and too open. I prefer the invitational option for Facebook and the sharing button that most news and blog sites offer.
