The bible isn't even a good fairy tale. There are too many inaccuracies to take it seriously. Being one who used to be devout until I looked into my beliefs and started thinking for myself, I can't understand what I saw in the Bible back in those days. |

Well ML, please do tell us one single fact they got wrong? Show us where anything they said, even a single comment they said was incorrect as sience shows? Anything, common just something, give us one fact that can be proven by reality not faith.
As for your supermarket tabloids Bree. The bible is the original supermarket tabloid in black and white, highlighted in red. More hearsay and guess work then the National Enqirer has had in all the years they have been around. Even you, the so called wizardess of the Pork cannot disprove a single thing they spoke of in this tape. I challange you to give us facts shown by sience that disproves anything spoken of in this clip. You do seem to be smart enough to know what you are speaking us. Show us something spoken of that science says is not what Penn and Teller said it is. No excuses Bree, no rolling your eyes, show us that your consistant words against me are indeed proper and you know of what you speak.

I am the reverse of Elizabathory, I found My faith late, and I have been saying if anyone wants to take the whole Bible as LITERAL FACT, they will never have faith. It is OK that I take comfort and feel peace with what I take out of it. If it brings Me peace to have faith where is the harm? I wouldn't point at the Naysayers and just label them as Evil Heathens. But I know where I was, I know where I am. I DO question much passage in the Bible I belong to a Faith that allows that, is tolerant of it and sometimes realizes it's own mistakes. (WOW a Church that is as I am, Open to Mistakes and willing to learn from them....and I DON"T have to Kill anyone to prove My faith, thats pretty cool!!!

I got a few Vacation Days left ....I'll try to step up to the plate regarding Kasteele's challenge on "Proof" , Gonna have to give Me a little research time K-Man. Most of My references will probably be based from Catholic and Christian study from some of the More respected schools that are Faith based. (I will try to do it in a NON-Conversion Way) Watching Penn and Teller do that is a let down to me. Jay and Silent Bob are now My favorite comedy duo, thanks in part to the Movie Dogma. |

it seems the only words out of your mouth are ridicule, sarcasm, and hate. You talk about the bible as if you know all about it. I suspect you've never read it from cover to cover and rely on hearsay for your opinions.
I hate to speak negatively about people, but I have a simple observation. You only open your mouth to change feet. |

Well lets see, at about 1:38 into this little bit of tired, old argument from the clearly cranky and petulant atheist set, the good Dr. of National Enquirer Religious Studies says..."don't tell me to take the Bible literally!"
Who is telling you to take it literally? The Bible isn't meant to be taken literally. It is a collection of allegory, poetry, parables, letters and sermons, some history...all kinds of things.
If your best attack on Christianity is based on a literal interpretation of the Bible then I can only smile, pinch your lil cheek, and paste a glittery blue star on your forehead for effort. And hey! Penn & Teller have a kiddie pool already blown up and filled with water! Scoot now!

| | | | Skywalker, I am glad to respond to your hate filled response. First off, I have indeed read the bible several times over. My family in my early years were very devout believers. My brother remains such as a Minister. As for your stand that all I do is speak hate and such, you most obviously do not know me at all in any way shape or form. Like a few others here who pretend they know what Kasteele is about. A great number of people here know me very well and that hate is about the last thing real about me. The only things I would say I hate are discrimination and governements who lie to hold power, which means pretty much all governments.
Bree, ML, you have said rather clear you will not disprove any of the words spoken, I will take that as you cannot disprove any of them and are trying to hide behind calling the claims rediculous. A very gutless way to worm your way out of the challange, but just what I expected you to do. If the day ever comes along that you can stand up for your beliefs in some serious way, please let us all know. As for the assertion you continue to make Bree, that the Bible was not meant to be taken literally, then it is meant to be a book of lies then? It is either truth or fiction not both. You mean to tell us that God would lie to us to teach us how he wishes us to live? He would tell stories that never happened to make us walk down a specific road? Really? Then you are telling us that every bit of the faith we are supposed to have is based on lies and deception.
And since I gather you never will take the time to prove even one little thing, then you do not have faith in your faith, to you, your own religion is not worth the trouble.
