If it happens during a certain period of the day that would help me track down the issue too...

Could be our server is getting too much load during peak periods.

Hi Cradz,

It definitely happens in the early morning most often. About 6am to 8am CST is the slowest time. Changing out to WebTV Basic didn't help at all as the entirety of the site was dog slow.

Does the hosting company do incremental backups in the early morning?

I also wanted to add that once you can make a connection to the server, it'll stay relatively quick so long as you refresh ever 5-10 seconds. If you let it sit idle in a chatroom, for example, anywhere ~1 minute or so, it takes a very long time to re-connect to the server. At one point, I clocked 4 minutes of "Waiting on the-pork.com..."

Other surfing done parallel to it was not having the same issue.

Thanks for the info Christopher

Is anybody else having the same issue around 6am-8am CST?

Our backups run a lot earlier than 6am so I don't think it's anything with our servers but could be somebody next door sapping a bunch of bandwidth during those periods.

Same problem on my end Cradz, and I am using firefox 2.0.0.7

As Christopher mentioned about the idle or quick refresh, it happens the same here. No specific time slot for me: it does it on morning as well as in evening. As a matter of fact, just after reading all the posts on this thread, it stuck when I clicked the Post a reply button. What I have taken as a habit is to click ESC then it refreshes in quick time.

From my early looks at logs it appears the application isn't responding fast enough...

I've created another application pool (basically another "site" on the same server).

You can access it via http://www.dominantsubmissive.com

Try using that site and let me know the results... right now it could be multiple things (including bad code) but I'm hoping it's just a case of we are getting too much traffic (which can happen when multiple search engines spider the site).

Thanks for your help!

I've tweaked a setting on our server ... this should work on all domain names.

Let me know if you see any improvement...
