| | | | PHOENIX - One night before the Patriots [team stats] face the Giants in Super Bowl XLII, new allegations have emerged about a Patriots employee taping the Rams’ final walkthrough before Super Bowl XXXVI.
According to a source, a member of the team’s video department filmed the Rams’ final walkthrough before that 2002 game. The next day, the Patriots upset St. Louis, 20-17, on a last-second field goal by Adam Vinatieri for their first championship.

| | | | The Patriots just released a statement of their own about the Rams’ walkthrough.
“The suggestion that the New England Patriots recorded the St. Louis Rams’ walkthrough on the day before Super Bowl XXXVI in 2002 is absolutely false,” said the statement. “Any suggestion to the contrary is untrue.”

| | | | NFL spokesman Greg Aiello released the following statement today about whether the Patriots filmed the Rams’ walkthrough before Super Bowl XXXVI.
“We were aware of the rumor months ago and looked into it,” Aiello said. “There was no evidence of it on the tapes or in the notes produced by the Patriots, and the Patriots told us it was not true.”

So…the NFL says they heard the rumor “months ago”, yet fatboy here never bothered to check into it before he ran with a story like he published today, giving all the anti Patriot haters on ESPN etc a full day of #&$^#@^$& crap to yell about? btw–nice job editing the comments on your other blog posts. You took out most of the ones demanding you be fired, etc, but left in ones like “Way to go John, don’t let the fraud fans get you down, you have the chance to drive a knife into the heart of the Belicheat era”.

Fact: A reality of our current culture is that employees seek to forward their company and their companies product. In this case the story in question gained some publicity for The Boston Herald. The Boston Herald has never even hit my computer as a website until today. At what cost is this success? Credibility of one of it’s reporters?
