i got caught in refresh hell tonight around 8:30 Pork time....using classic chat settings, IE7 on XP and using the www4.the-pork.com domain......made one post and it took nearly four minutes to post and refresh.....tried to make a second post and after five minutes of spinning, got an error message saying the page could not be found. Tried to go back to the page i had just left and it spun and spun and spun and wouldn't pull the page back up again....
Ended up having to pull up a second IE7 window, then re-log in via www.the-pork.net and the login process took nearly four minutes after i entered my password.....as did getting to the chat room screen....once i got back into the chat room i was in, however, then things sped up again for me....
Had some refresh issues last night during the auction as well, but not nearly as bad as this one tonight!
Next time this happens for you see if you can ping the server and how long it takes.
Open up a DOS window (go to Start > Run .. and type in cmd to open up a DOS Window) and type in ping www.the-pork.net .... let me know what ping times you get or if it times out at all.
I've received numerous emails and pager messages from members who have let me know they have no issues with the site so I'm thinking it has to be a connection issue between your ISP and ours.
I'm not seeing any errors in our logs and this new server is running at only 15% capacity so I really don't think it's a server issue. |

| | just had one of those random boots....it happened 3:10 pork time and booted me out to my desktop....no youtubes were being posted in the room before or after it happened....and i was on firefox |
