Include:

1. G Gordon Liddy, who committed his crimes around the same time as Ayers. In addition to the Watergate break in for which he served 4 1/2 years in prison, he has admitted to thoroughly planning a number of other crimes that weren't carried out, including kidnapping, murdering columnist Jack Anderson and others and bombings. He's held fundraisers for McCain, donated to his campaign, and McCain has gone on his radio show and referred to Liddy as "my old friend".

2. 10 year friendship with Charles H. Keating, JR, the convicted felon. The man who, with McCain's help, caused the savings and loan crisis of the early 1990's. The crisis where 21,000 mostly elderly American's lost their life savings. The crisis that cost American tax payers billions of dollars. McCain wasn't just a casual acquaintance of Keating, he was a friend. McCain and Keating had become personal friends following their initial contacts in 1981, and McCain was the closest socially to Keating of the "Keating 5". Between 1982 and 1987, McCain had received $112,000 in political contributions from Keating and his associates. In addition, McCain's wife Cindy McCain and her father Jim Hensley had invested $359,100 in a Keating shopping center in April 1986, a year before McCain met with the regulators on behalf of Keating. McCain, his family, and their baby-sitter had made nine trips at Keating's expense, sometimes aboard Keating's jet. Three of the trips were made during vacations to Keating's opulent Bahamas retreat at Cat Cay.For this little lapse in judgment McCain was rebuked by the Senate for his "poor judgment".

3. "John McCain sat on the board of a very right-wing organization, it was the U.S. Council for World Freedom, it was chaired by a guy named John Singlaub, who wound up involved in the Iran contra scandal. It was an ultra conservative, right-wing group. The Anti-Defamation League, in 1981, when McCain was on the (Council for World Freedom) board, said this about this organization. It was affiliated with the World Anti-Communist League – the parent organization – which ADL said “has increasingly become a gathering place, a forum, a point of contact for extremists, racists and anti-Semites.” (Paul Begala, Meet the Press, 10/5/08).

4. John McCain's father-in-law, Jim Hensley (his current wife Cindy's father) had been involved in illegal bootlegging, and owned the Ruidoso Downs racetrack in the 1950s. His equal partner, Clarence "Teak" Baldwin had been involved in illegal bookmaking operations of organized crime. The Hensleys also caused quite a stir with their connections to a reputed mob boss named Kemper Marley, who was also Jim Hensley's employer and who later was implicated in the 1976 bombing death of Arizona investigative journalist Don Bolles. Then there's the suspended 6-month sentence her father "served," in connection with illegal activities in their beer distribution business.

There are plenty more, McCain has had more than his share of questionable friends and associates in his already too long career. Then there are Palin's questionable associations which she's rung up in her shoirt career- like her own husband's membership in the group that wants Alaska to seceed from our great country, and her blessings by, and open praise for, her witch hunting preacher (video all over youtube already but not widely known).

So Republicans, go ahead and play your last card - the guilt by association game. Sure, it may obscure the real issues McCain and Palin are trying to hide, but the Democrats won't just sit back and take it this time around. If Obama's character and judgment depends on the deeds of those he has crossed paths with in his political or personal life, then so should McCain's - and Palin's since she is the one out slinging the mud. And remember with only a month left who needs to worry about truth getting in the way? Obama and Biden may be above rolling around in the muck themselves, but plenty of their supporters aren't. Both sides can play the same ugly game.

I've not heard a word from the McCain/Palin ticket about the National Enquirer story about Palin's affair with her husbands business partner.

You'd think there would be law suites and denials.

So far....not a word.

It's sorta like Obama hasn't sued anyone about those limo affairs with ohter guys and the blow and blow parties at the hotel. Or all the inter family relationships and the size of his family! Can you believe Obama has so many chilluns
from his first wife!

Some things are better ignored.

Like some of the people who post here.

There is no fear and ignorance
Only greater understanding and awareness when we apply our intelligence

Perhaps ML will wake up and come to his senses when he sees what we are learning about Barrack Hussein Obama and his financial backer--Khalid al-Mansour.

It is gonna bust this campaign wide open.

Here is just the tip of the iceberg...
