Liberals are so desperate for something to tar conservatives, they are pulling stuff right out of the old British Empire playbook. Anybody seen "Last of the Mohicans" starring Daniel Day-Lewis? Some great scenes are played out around the term "Sedition". This version has far less tension and not quite as much star power, but it is riveting for what it reveals about liberals flailing about for something to "hit back" with. I would liken the commentators to Major Duncan Heyward exhibiting the atrocious and clueless superioriority complex that eventually runs headlong into a people determined to be free.
Movie Unavailable? Click here.
Jack Winthrop: Does the rule of English law no longer govern? Has it been replaced by absolutism? Hawkeye: If English law cannot be trusted maybe these people would do better making their own peace with the French. Duncan: That is sedition! Hawkeye: That is the truth. Duncan: I'll have you beaten from this fort! Hawkeye: Someday I think you and I are going to have a serious disagreement.
Yes. I believe Hawkeye was correct.
dandy
P.S. I was thinking about quotes from that movie, and I thought of the perfect quote to describe the American electorate who voted for the moderate *cough*extremeleftliberal*cough* Barack Obama.
Duncan: You are defending him because you've become infatuated with him! Cora Munro: Duncan, you are a man with a few admirable qualities, but taken as a whole, I was wrong to have thought so highly of you.

Quit the flaming PITA.. you know better.
You will be banned from this forum permanently if I see this again. You make a good point but you need to do that without the name calling. NHB Politics is the place for that.

airmid - I've asked before and neither you nor anyone else who submits to the "forged birth certificate" theory has ever answered.
Do you honestly believe that the Republican governor of Hawaii (who btw supported McCain), John McCain himself, the officials at the State Health Department in Hawaii, two newspapers that printed birth announcements almost 50 years ago, every Republican member of Congress (since members of Congress actually would have standing in court to file), and every judge who has refused to hear the case all joined in a conspiracy to put Barack Obama into the White House?
Why do you think so many Republicans and others who hate him and would like to see him removed from office joined the conspiracy?
How far back does it go?
Seriously, I've met old people who honestly believed that the moon landing was staged, and even THEY couldn't come up with something planned that far back and held together by so many people who would stand to benefit if the conspiracy theory was true.

And btw airmid - the people WERE heard.
Barack Obama was voted in by a majority of both the popular vote AND a majority of electoral votes.
We call that "democracy in action"

My apologies Cradz, one of those very early in the day over sights on my part, out of line for sure for this forum. (I am not even certain what I said at this point, but I trust your opinion)
As for Constantine, or who ever the name is, I was unaware I offended or attacked you? This is the first time I have seen your name.
My main point in this thread, is the same as in many threads. Perhaps if people started looking at where we are today with everything from health care to the dollar, we would have much more to discuss and a great deal less to rank out on each other about. Obama won the election, he won introducing health care, these things will not change, get over it. let's discuss the things that really have a chance to change and you never know, one of the ideas from it, may just help in the end.

Constantine_Opel (4/21/2010) Of course the people were heard and not a soul denies that. But what the people had heard, which subsequently made the people vote for Obama, ended up to be a lot of empty promise and wishful thinking. It's that aftershock which prompted the citizen who does not see eye to eye with Obama politics to start gathering their masses and do what is the American thing to do;protest.
The future starts now! November will prove to be a cataclysmic moment for the Democratic party.
Somehow, I think you are wrong. Not because Obama is great, but because Americans have no one to vote for. Over and over, they bounce back and forth between two parties that promise the moon and rip off your toilet seat.

I may egg people on a great deal, but I know what the outlook is and where it needs to go. This back and forth between to groups of what I would call pretty much "the criminal element", is only dragging America to it's death. Iti sup to Americans to take a stand. I can say Canadians found they had no choice. Harper was more than will to stay the course with the illegal invasions, but the Canadian public made it clear he could not. Mind you, in the end, we have pretty much the same situation politically. Nothing but crooks running the system. It is time we started worrying about our own countries first and leave others to either live up to a better code, or kill themselves off one way or another.
