The 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals has overturned U.S. District Judge Nina Gershon and taken away taxpayer funding of ACORN. In addition corporate sponsorship of ACORN is no more. It seems those two kids who posed as a pimp and a prostitute has brought ACORN to its knees. Sometimes the system works.

Sad thing that in America, you are innocent until a court says otherwise, provided another court does not come along with zero regard for the law or the original court said. So much for justice, truth and the American way

If we all worked on the assumption that what is accepted as true, is really true, there would be little hope of advance......

Kasteele

due to public outcry, congress voted to stop funding acorn......

that should have been the end of it.......then and there

but the will of the people wasnt good enough for acorn.....

they thought they had some right to federal funding.......so they shopped for a corrupt judge to agree with them....

the appeals court righted the wrong done by nina whoever and thats how the system is designed to work....

acorn is a corrupt criminal front group and needed to be cut off from federal funding and disbanded....

Acorn is finished.
there will not be any repeals or overturns
in courts to grant them funding.

Keep watching.

And remember these key words: "bills of attainder"

BTW, how do y'all feel about companies that have actually been CONVICTED of felonies being funded by the US government?

Yeah, that's what I thought.

ACORN will be dismembered. The CEO can fight all she likes...with the socialists with no money by her side...ACORN shall be no more.

And I do so from the comfort of my own home, within my own home country, where I live with a smile on my face.

Okay, so y'all are predicting ACORN's demise, and saying that the judge's decision is what will cause it - knowing full well that ACORN announced MORE THAN A MONTH AGO that it will close up shop.

How very prophetic of you!

Next you'll be telling us that it's going to get hot - and you'll make the announcement a month AFTER the first day of summer, while we're in the middle of 90 something degree temps!

Seriously, yes, the right has succeeded in killing funding that was going towards helping the poor - good for you! Now we can have more poor families living on the street - I mean, what's a city if it doesn't have homeless people?

Maybe you should go after food banks next - those damned hungry people, what right do they have to feed their children food donated to churches that are tax exempt! And don't forget Rescue Missions....the Salvation Army...the groups that collect coats and gloves and blankets for the homeless in winter...there must be countless charities that receive tax exempt status or government subsidies that you can go after. Your "compassionate conservativism" is showing.

(And I say that assuming that at least SOME of you know that ACORN's funding went towards helping low-income people find affordable housing and food stamps - the "helping poor people and minorities register to vote" thing was a totally different animal, and was NOT funded by our government. But you won't hear that on Fox.)

So yes, you can cheer the demise of a program that helped a lot of people who needed help.

HOWEVER, the constitutional issue is not over - the appeal has been expedited (should be next month, if I'm hearing right), and if most constitutional scholars are correct, it will be found that by punishing a group specifically when it has not been convicted of any crime amounts to a "bill of attainder" - which is, btw, unconstitutional.

ALSO, the law that was hurriedly passed by Congress (against legal advice) may also be the end of funding for many defense contractors - particularly those that have actually been CONVICTED of crimes (unlike ACORN) - and if you think that's not going to turn around and bite them on the ass, you're not paying attention.

And if you think you've killed programs to help the poor, and especially volunteer programs to help register the poor to vote - and to help remind them who's trying to keep them from voting - well, just keep underestimating people.

As I've always told my kids - no person is more dangerous than the one who has nothing left to lose.
