Comedy Central and Jon Stewart of the Daily Show seek to protect the Jewish population and the creators of the animated South Park from themselves and Muslim extremists by censoring the show that features the Muslim prophet in a bear costume. The South Park creators have been known to mock organized religion for years. Not Muslim extremists apparently. The Muslim extremists have taken steps to win the entertainment war here in America.
Meanwhile France bans the veil.

First of all...why are muslim extremists watching South Park to begin with?
It's really up to the network that airs the show whether it gets to air or not...and if they say ok in america, then so be it.
Nobody thretened to kill anyone over the "Jewbilee" episode.
Also...on the France thing. I think that the veils -should- be banned in public as a matter of public safety. If i walked into a store with a ski mask on, i'm sure i'd be thrown out. If they want to cover their women up like that and dictate to them how they dress and live...then they should confine them to the family home all covered up.

We are allowing people whe deal in fear and terror to dictate our speech.
At this point it isn't free speech. It is hostage speech. Comedy Central has allowed its speech to be taken hostage. No matter how you slice it, it is sad.

The Muslim extremists were a New York based group. They threatened the creators of South Park with death. The Muslim Revolution threatened the creators of South Park with ending up like Theo Van Gogh who was found dead in the street with a note from Muslim extremists attached to his chest with a knife. And yes, it is up to Comedy Central what to air. It is also true that Comedy Central caved to this Muslim group and that the free speech of the South Park creators was lost to the extremists. Jon Stewart, the stations flagship caved. His audience caved.
According to the Attorney General, Eric Holder, Black Panthers with clubs can stand outside of a polling place in America. And you can go into a grocery store with a ski mask on in America. Women in veils, even burkas, should be allowed to walk in public places in France.

Meanwhile France bans the veil.
Those who disagree with this one, certainly do not work in retail. ANYTHING the covers a persons identity, must be illegal.

Let them go back to Saudi and wear the veil if it bothers them that much. I fail to see why a country like France which is a Catholic country HAS to accept anothers religious dress. It may CHOOSE to do so, but it should not be mandatory.
I get fed up with Muslims flinging their arms in the air and making a fuss over what the non muslim country that they are living in, is telling them is acceptable or not. I spent time in Kuwait and Saudi.....not once was I allowed to wear European clothes that exposed my legs or even above my wrists in the case of Saudi. You don't see the non muslins out there waving their arms about and making a fuss. We accept that we are visitors or residents of a country that has certain beliefs and we abide and work within those rules. If we don't like that....we are free to leave
We're like a bunch of pussies tiptoeing in our own countries scared of upsetting one groups sensibilities or another.....damned ridiculous situation to be in.

I went to Saudi on numerous occassions and was not allowed to wear a tshirt or anything that revealed about the wrist, more or less. I didn't have to cover my head unless I was going into a relgious building. In Kuwait I was allowed to wear tshirts, but was discouraged from wearing shorts out in public.
You could always move out to a muslim country to take full advantage and enjoyement of all they have to offer. But I'll stick to western clothes in non muslim european countries for now thanks

We do understand that those who think hidden identities and disguises are okay, but most of us, remain who we really are. These people who want to cover up in society, should do so in the countries it is accepted, not in places where we show our true faces. At least most of us here, do not hide behind anything. So do, behind veils, new names, whatever else there may be.

This has nothing to do with religion. It has everything to do with public safety as we see it. To wear a mask or something to obstruct who you are is illegal. That makes these veils illegal. Understand that in our society, sooner than later, someone wearing one of these will enter a government building, unchecked will kill everyone in it. Religion be damned, I go for a safe society. If they wish to do as they do in their own country, they should remain in their own country.
