And any thread where the topic includes something that is absolutely indefensible tends to have those who would rather shift the focus on to something else than debate the actual topic.
It happens quite frequently on here.

What is the difference between wandering and derailment? Perhaps you mentioned the person who started to talk about the dead in the Israeli/Arab blockade. I probably missed that.
Anyways back to the topic..."Meadors' and Lockwood's struggle to find justice spans decades, and there doesn't appear to be an end in sight." says it all.

Wandering: Naturally progression through related points over the course of conversation. Derailment: An abrupt jump to another (sometimes but not always superficially similar topic), often as an attempt to direct attention away from the actual topic of the thread. It's pretty simple really, and pretty obvious when it occurs.
As far as the incident at hand goes, it appears shocking until you look at it from the point of view that America seems to embrace the idea of doing right by its veterans, 'supporting the heroes' and all that, but recoils from the actual practicalities of needing to do so. Then this is just another case of getting the men the support they deserve being a secondary consideration to what's convenient. You want to be honoured as an American serviceman? Best have the good grace to die in service.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Approach discussion on these boards with the following in mind; You can do two things here- try to attack the other side, or try to understand the other side. You can't change the other side. The Right isn't going to convince the Left that they're naive and retarded, and the Left isn't going to convince the Right that they're immoral, heartless monsters.

Excuse me, but this thread is about an American warship having been attacked by the Zionists, not about running a blockade. And as far as blockades go, especially the one which pertains to the Zionists trying to man-handle the Palestinian people once again; with a clear mind and an open heart I agree with the blockade runners and financially and emotionally support the groups who have the balls to take on Israel.
Praise the Palestinian people.
