NATO and the U.S.A. are fighting in Afghanistan. Why is President Obama fighting in Afghanistan and how is it different from the fighting in Iraq? Are the goals not the same?

Because he is to stupid to go against his advisors.. so yes his reasons are the same.

If we all worked on the assumption that what is accepted as true, is really true, there would be little hope of advance......

Please tell me you two don't need a history lesson?

We were attacked from Afgan, the talaban let the Al K train the bomber of 9/11 in there country. and we attacked them in Af.

The Iroq war was all Bush lies.

there is a start.

And I am willing to bet the President is smarter then you think!

I am a vet and I hate war more them most but I do understand why were are still there. "Bush dropped the ball and attacked Iraq" end of story.

and gone!

President Obama answered all of the questions in his address last night (8/31/2010), Rawhide. He spoke of two wars we are fighting. Also, I didn't say or intimate that any of our presidents were not smart men.

Oh, well I really don't read the Canadian's posts, Rawhide. Sorry 'bout that.

Since the beginning of this darn Middle East battle, i have learned to deal with the pains as well as the sorrows of losing our brave men and women. I lost my youngest son in Iraq, back in 2004, when Bush was in office. Now that Obama is in office, and we are still in this mess, my nerves have been raw.My second oldest son is now serving in Afghanistan, and has been since June of last year. There is to much dirt and foul play within the government, and our troops have to pay.
